Located 6 km north of Ephesus, this 1st-century AD house is believed to be the final residence of Virgin Mary. A church was built on its foundations in the 6th century AD, and it is considered a pilgrimage site for Christians. The Assumption of Mary is also believed to have occurred here on August 15th.

The Temple of Artemis

This grand temple, dedicated to the goddess Artemis, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The original temple, which housed 127 Ionic columns, was a major center of worship and also functioned as an ancient bank.
