Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a walking tour through one of the best-preserved classical cities in the world. Highlights include Marble Road, The Odeon, Bouleuterion, Temple of Hadrian, Trajan’s Fountain, Mosaic Street, The Agora, Roman Baths, and Harbour Street.
You’ll stand in awe before the Great Theatre, capable of seating 25,000 spectators, and admire the intricate façade of the Celsus Library, once a center of learning in the Roman Empire. Guests who wish may enter the Terrace Houses, where the elite of Ephesus once lived (admission not included).
After Ephesus, the tour continues to the nearby site of the Temple of Artemis, one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Although only a few columns remain, the scale and importance of the sanctuary are still deeply felt.
