About This Tour
Ten days gives you time to experience Turkey's major cultural regions without reducing the journey to a rapid sequence of sightseeing stops. This Cultural Turkey Tour begins with three nights in Istanbul, including a Bosphorus cruise and visits to Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Grand Bazaar. Fly to Cappadocia for two days among rock-carved churches, valleys and distinctive geological formations, visiting Goreme Open-Air Museum, Pasabag, Devrent Valley, Avanos, Uchisar Castle, Red and Rose Valleys, Cavusin Village and Kaymakli Underground City . An optional Cappadocia hot air balloon flight can also be added before the regular sightseeing program. The second half of this 10 day Turkey tour moves to the Aegean region, with Kusadasi providing the base for three very different ancient landscapes. Walk through Ephesus and see the Celsus Library, Grand Theater, Temple of Artemis and House of Virgin Mary; continue to the travertines and ancient ruins of Pamukkale and Hierapolis ; then spend the final sightseeing day at Pergamon , including its Acropolis and ancient Asclepion. Accommodation with breakfast, domestic flights, airport transfers, licensed guiding, entrance fees and lunches during scheduled tours are included, with the journey concluding at Izmir Airport for the flight back to Istanbul.
